There are (2) Energy Efficient Rebate Programs for upgrading your homes heating & cooling system. While both rebate programs are based around improving the Energy Efficiency of your home & lowering operating cost, they each have there individual requirements. 1. High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program - This is income based program. 2. Home Energy-Performance Whole House Rebates (The Homes Rebate Program) - This is performance based program.
The High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program is based on income. The state based rebate program can cover up to 100% of the project costs for low income homeowners or, 50% for moderate incomes. This rebate program also includes rebates for electic load service & wiring upgrades. $4.4 Billion was appropriated to this programs, however, states must request federal funding to distribute locally to qualified electrification projects. Each state must apply for this funding with an application outlining each states unique program.
The Homes Rebate Program is a performance based rebate program. The Heating & Cooling System technical requirements & potential rebate amounts for homeowners will vary based on state requirements & income levels. However, the guidance outlines that a homeowner may receive up to $4,000.00 per dwelling, & that amount could be doubled for low & moderate income earning homeowners. All incomes are eligible, but rebates are higher for low & moderate income customers. Before & after energy modeling or energy measuring will need to be preformed outlining the energy savings.
